Construction during COVID

Although many Americans deem most construction they witness on their morning commutes as unnecessary, the United States has identified the construction industry as a resounding essential during the Covid19 crisis. Thousands of construction and developmental projects were postponed temporarily or put on pause to nurture employees’ safety. If we think of the very parts of life that we’ve tried to positively impact during the pandemic, like health, safety, and human welfare, construction is often the means to arrive there.

U.S. Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) is the federal issued agent who supports or shoots down which trades are viewed as “essential.” Aside from the Construction Industry, Healthcare, Telecommunications, and Manufacturing are a few other essential industries required to keep society going and most recently recognized during the Coronavirus Pandemic. If you were to place each one of these essential trades side by side, you could conclude that neither of them could fully function without the support of the other.

For example, construction is completely essential to healthcare. During the pandemic, hospitals around the country were faced with challenges not simply on the quality of care but oftentimes faced with additional space requirements. Who comes in to save the day? You guessed it, construction workers. Regardless of the severity of a construction project, it’s easy to see how it’s a pillar of a successful and healthy economic society.

As mentioned by the  Construction Association, The construction industry employs over 7 million people and creates nearly $1.3 trillion worth of structures each year. This heavily impacts the US economy’s financial state and, without it, could be detrimental to other industries’ success. StallionRents appreciates and acknowledges the many industrial industries’ dedication and hard work during the pandemic and is proud to continue to provide our site services, including temporary workforce housing, light towers, generators, and more.
